Dr Sushmita Hunter and Dr Kerryn Loftus are Consultant Psychogeriatricians and Psychiatrists 

Dr Rowan Keighran is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist. 

Dr Jon Williams is a Child & Adolescent psychiatrist.

Dr Lindy Schur is an adult general psychiatrist

All are Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Hunter and Dr Loftus are members of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry, Dr Keighran is a member of the Section of Neuropsychiatry. Dr Williams is a member of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Faculty of Psychotherapy

Areas of specialty include the assessment and treatment of:

  • Neurological disorders where psychiatric symptoms are the concern

  • Anxiety disorders and chronic pain disorders

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Schizophrenia 

  • Epilepsy

  • ADHD

  • Intellectual disability

  • Drug, alcohol, and gambling addictions

  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health

 

Psychogeriatricians manage psychological and medical (often neurological) disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke related issues, and dementia. Neuropsychiatrists manage intellectual disability, ADHD, epilepsy, and neurological disorders. They both deal with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia throughout the life cycle. 

Dr Jon Williams will see children over 12 at these rooms

 

Dr Hunter and Dr Keighran are also affiliated with the Black Dog Institute, a centre for the treatment and research of mood disorders. Dr Hunter and Dr Loftus visit Nursing Homes which are local.

 

Psychiatrists may prescribe medications. At times counselling only is employed. It will depend on the type and severity of the disorder.
